People here talking about how C/C++ is unsaf, no good, don't learn it. C is good, but it's easy to write unsafe code by accident. For years the bast majority of the patches in FOSS are related to memory safety. C and C++ has it place, but C fanatics sound like Assembly fanatics when C was introduced, trying to hide it flaws and over sell the benefits.
